Invitation to Participate
Instructions to Focus Article Authors
Our preferred method of submission is in an electronic format. Microsoft Word is the preferred file format, although we will accept manuscripts in Rich Text Format (.rtf), Word Perfect (.wpd) or ASCII (.txt). (ASCII files need two paragraph returns between paragraphs.)Manuscripts should be double-spaced with 1.5" margins on all sides and should include a title page, abstract, text, acknowledgements, references, appendices, tables, figure captions and footnotes. Indicate where figures or tables are to be positioned. Page 1 should contain the article title, author(s) affiliation(s), a short form of the title (less than 48 characters), and the name and address of the contact author. Page 2 should contain a 150-200 word abstract. All pages should be numbered (except camera-ready artwork). Prepare manuscripts according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (5th ed.), paying particular attention to references and citations and "Guidelines to Reduce Language Bias." Manuscripts submitted as "focus articles" should be approximately 40 pages.
Manuscripts must include only original material that has not been previously published and that is not submitted for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for all statements made in their work and for obtaining permission for nonexclusive world rights in all languages. Submit copies of all permissions and credit lines with the manuscript.

If you are interested in becoming a commentator, please complete our Commentary Interest Form, indicating your area of interest.Commentary manuscripts should also be submitted to Karen Draney, preferably in electronic format. Commentary manuscripts respond to a particular focus article manuscript and are generally 2-3 pages in length.
